TOMCFW Most Anticipated: FASHION Magazine’s Toronto Fashion Week Awards
Day One is done and we’re feeling alright! Mikhael Kale dazzled us with a glittering, intricately beaded and appliquéd collection heavy on the favoured S/S floral theme; Sid Neigum showed his iconic detailing with asymmetrical, fluid and moody yet crisp pieces.
I’d love to say I danced the night away, giving Toronto’s Fashion Week a proper welcome, but I’m saving my dancing shoes (that would be my favourite pink lace-up crystal embellished Sophia Webster Lacey’s; very appropriate for showing support for breast cancer awareness month!) for a very proper FW send off on Friday.
That would be Glossy Boss FASHION Magazine’s Toronto Fashion Week Awards. Canada’s favourite fashion authority fêtes and honours those both behind the scenes and in the forefront who made it all happen with their highly anticipated closing party.
Recognizing outstanding talent and achievement from models to designers to stylists, the award’s ceremony will host fashion folk from all corners of the industry. Treating guests to hors d’oeuvres (contrary to popular belief, most fashion people, you know, actually eat) and an open bar — which is very generous, as the tickets are only $50! — this is certainly the highlight of FW.

After a week of dashing to shows, this is the best way to unwind; sip some well-deserved cocktails, mingle with fashion’s finest, and pay homage to the hard-working individuals who made it all happen.
FASHION Magazine’s Toronto Fashion Week Awards will be held on Friday, October 23rd at 9pm at The Design Exchange (234 Bay Street). Tickets are limited so snag them here before they’re gone. See you at the #FASHIONMagAwards!
