Perfect Spring Hair

After years of practise, I have finally achieved the ability to style my hair into a Kate Moss-y undone look with ease. This look in particular jives well with spring vibes; see: Chloé, Valentino, Alberta Ferretti and Chanel’s (just to name a few) Spring 2015 beauty looks. Apart from channelling that Parisian It Girl that never seems to stray from alluring beauty pages and stylistic how-to’s, sexy, tumbling tresses are a piece of cake to achieve. Thanks for letting us hit the snooze button one more time, Chanel!

Step one starts fresh right out of the shower. Wash and condition with your favourite combo, and grab some paper towels to gently squeeze out excess water — more absorbent and less abrasive than rough drying with a towel, this is a trade secret to cutting dry time in half while keeping hair cuticles smooth.

After combing out tangles using a wide tooth comb (this prevents snags and strands from snapping) finger-comb a generous amount of Living Proof’s Prime Style Extender from roots to ends. This lightweight gel-cream primes, perfects and extends the life of your style and creates a foolproof foundation for styling. Longer lasting styles and less touch ups = hair that does itself. A win in our books.

This look achieves the perfect balance between an undone quality, yet still looks a little polished; you don’t want to look like you actually just rolled out of bed and haven’t shampooed in five days. Enter Kérastase PARIS Cristaliste-Cristal Sculpt: this dual-pump serum-in-gloss hybrid creates supremely smooth strands and mirror-like shine. Delivering the perfect amount of each product in their innovative two-in-one dispenser, a couple of pumps is all you’ll need for manageable, free-flowing lengths and ends so smooth you’ll look like you just had a trim. Hair looks supremely glossy and tumbles just so.

Now for the tousle: lightly spritz on Shu Uemura’s Art of Hair Liquid Fabric Mineral Texture Spray. Coaxing out and emphasizing a wave, this fine-misting spray creates a beautifully natural-looking pattern while adding a bit of that undone texture.
